OUR STORY
We are Romain and Alexandre Lecat — brothers and bakers from France with a lifelong passion for high-quality bread and a deep respect for the art of French baking. After years of traveling to Los Angeles and eventually settling here, we fell in love with the energy, diversity, and creativity of the city. But no matter how much we embraced our new home, one thing was always missing: the true taste of the bread we grew up with in France.
That longing became our motivation. Determined to bring the tradition and flavors of our homeland to California, we returned to Paris to study at some of the finest baking schools, learning the techniques passed down through generations. We immersed ourselves in the precision, patience, and purpose that define true artisan baking. We sourced the finest non-GMO flour from the French countryside — the same regions that supply some of the best boulangeries in the world — and committed ourselves to honoring those standards in everything we would create.
From that dream, SWEET WHEAT was born — a bakery where every croissant is hand-rolled, every loaf is thoughtfully fermented, and every detail reflects our dedication to quality and connection. Our goal was never just to bake bread, but to build something meaningful — a place where our neighbors could gather, where families could slow down together, and where the warmth of French hospitality could be felt in every bite.
Today, SWEET WHEAT is growing beyond a single bakery. With each new location, we’re proud to share the flavors of France with more communities across California — one fresh-baked loaf, croissant, and pastry at a time. As we grow, our mission remains the same: to bring people together through food made with care, tradition, and a whole lot of heart.

At SWEET WHEAT, we’ve personally tested and perfected every item on our menu — because we believe food should be as joyful as it is genuine. Each baked good is hand-crafted on-site by our artisan French bakers, using time-honored techniques and premium ingredients.
Our commitment to quality begins with our sourcing: we use only the finest non-GMO grains, French butter, sea salt, pearl sugar, and more — all imported directly from France. Our coffee is smooth and complex, roasted in France to preserve its authentic character.
