We are Romain and Alexandre Lecat — brothers and bakers from France with a shared passion for high-quality bread. After years of visiting and eventually living in Los Angeles, we fell in love with the city — but always missed the authentic taste of the French bread we grew up with.
Determined to bring that tradition to our new home, we returned to Paris to study the craft at some of the finest baking schools and sourced exceptional flour from the fields of France. From there, SWEET WHEAT was born — a French artisan bakery rooted in authenticity, craftsmanship, and the belief that food brings people together.
Today, SWEET WHEAT is growing beyond a single bakery, sharing the flavors of France with communities across California — one fresh-baked loaf, croissant, and pastry at a time.

At SWEET WHEAT, we’ve personally tested and perfected every item on our menu — because we believe food should be as joyful as it is genuine. Each baked good is hand-crafted on-site by our artisan French bakers, using time-honored techniques and premium ingredients.
Our commitment to quality begins with our sourcing: we use only the finest non-GMO grains, French butter, sea salt, pearl sugar, and more — all imported directly from France. Our coffee is smooth and complex, roasted in France to preserve its authentic character. We also partner with trusted European and local producers to bring you rich cheeses, quality meats, and specialty ingredients that elevate every bite.
